UKATA Asbestos Awareness

8th August 2017

Handling asbestos safely is vital for the health and safety of those directly involved and anyone within a distance likely to expose them to inhaling the dust. The dangers of asbestos were unknown for many years and deaths are still occurring from inhalation many years ago. It is therefore mandatory that anyone who currently does or who may foreseeably expose themselves to asbestos to have training (Regulation 10 - Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2012).  This course meets the expectations of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2012 and ACOP (Approved Code of Practice) L143. For anyone in doubt, people working on any building built before the year 2000 or containing areas dating from before that year must undertake this training, which meets the requirements of the United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (UKATA).
